Hesham M. Gad
CEO of Paragon Technologies
Hesham Gad has been Chairman of the Company’s Board of Directors since March 2012, a director of the Company since October 2010, and President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company since May 20, 2014. Mr. Gad is also the Chairman and CEO of SED International Holdings, Inc. Mr. Gad is the founder and managing partner of Gad Partners Fund. Mr. Gad is also the author of the internationally published book, “The Business of Value Investing.”
Chief Financial Officer
Deborah Mertz is an accounting professional with over 30 years of experience in both public and private companies and has held various senior accounting positions. From 1999 to 2006, Deborah was the Controller and Chief Financial Officer of Sargent Manufacturing Company. Sargent Manufacturing Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of ASSA ABLOY Inc. and manufactures architectural hardware used primarily in commercial construction. Deborah was also employed as Assistant Controller of ASSA ABLOY Inc. Americas Division from 2006 to 2013. ASSA ABLOY is the largest global supplier of intelligent lock and security solutions. Deborah is a CPA and has an Master of Business Administration from Rider University and a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from King’s College.
Vice President of Operations
As Director of Operations, Victor oversees the daily activities within our facility, the parts department, and the facilitation of SI Systems’ project work. Having been with SI Systems for over 35 years, Victor brings extensive experience and industry knowledge to the company’s daily operations.
Vice President of Sales & Marketing
Ed Romaine has spent over 30 years helping leading distribution and manufacturing organizations increase their operating efficiencies and bottom line profitability in their order picking, packing, shipping and assembly systems. Ed has held top management positions for industry leaders such as Kardex Remstar, White Systems, Integrated Systems Design (ISD) and his own company. Within the industry trade association, Material Handling Institute (MHI), Ed has taken numerous leadership positions over his 17 year tenure. He is currently the Chairman of the Automated Storage & Retrieval (AS/RS) Group, and has been Chairman of the Order Fulfillment Council (OFC) and the Supply Chain Execution Group (SCE). He has also been an industry thought leader and featured speaker at dozens of events and guest writer for hundreds of articles.
Director of Business Development
Dean’s 30 years of experience has included positions in the electronics, aerospace, automotive and manufacturing industries for such companies as Westinghouse, Curtiss-Wright, United Capital Corp. and White Systems. His most recent position was Director of Operations for Sapient Automation, a broad-based material handling company focused on automation and distribution. Within the material handling marketplace, Dean has managed multi-million dollar sales proposals and contracts, served as a product line manager for imported material handling equipment and was a project engineer for complex machinery installations. Dean holds a Bachelor of Science in Manufacturing Engineering from Boston University and a Master of Business Administration in International Business from Fairleigh Dickinson University. In 1990, he was awarded a U.S. patent for an accessory used in electronics manufacturing.
East Coast VP of Sales
Randolph brings decades of driving successful integrated automated material handling equipment, software and systems throughout the industry. He will be working with organizations looking to enhance their order fulfillment requirements to the next level. These organizations include a network of OEMs, dealers, integrators and 3PL partners not to mention end users.
Prior to joining SI Systems, Randolph spent years providing supply chain consulting with organizations such as Randolph Hearst, CDS Global, Metron North America, EBay Enterprise, GSI Commerce, NewRoads and Dematic USA. Randolph works out of the Atlanta, GA region.
Director of Software Engineering
Ravi has been in the software development field for over 23 years, 17 of them in the material handling industry with SI Systems. He has successfully designed and implemented many of SI Systems’ warehouse software applications, building most of them from the ground up. An expert in object-oriented methodologies and designs, Ravi has two bachelor’s degrees, one in Physics and another in Computer Technology, from Mumbai University (formerly Bombay University).
