Manufacturing is the process of changing over raw materials, segments, or parts into completed merchandise that meet a client’s desires or specificatitions. The process usually utilizes a man-machine setup with division of work in a huge scale production.

Automatic, as opposed to human, operation or control of a process, equipment or a system; or the techniques and equipment are used to achieve this. Most often applied to computer (or at least electronic) control of a this process. A manufacturing execution system (MES) is a control system for managing and monitoring work-in-process on a factory floor. An MES keeps track of all information in real time, receiving up-to-the-minute data from robots, machine monitors and employees.
